Vince Cable MP was in Orpington to support Cllr David McBride's bid to become the town's MP.

The Acting Leading of the Liberal Democrats, Vince Cable MP, recently visited Orpington to support local Cllr David McBride's bid to become the town's MP.

Dr Cable, who has spent his time as Acting Leader exposing the Government's financial shortcomings, talked to activists across Bromley Borough about how similar the Labour Government and the Conservatives now are in areas such as local government taxation, nuclear power, policies on student finances and personal taxation.

"Vince has done tremendously well as Acting Leader and was a hugely entertaining speaker," said Cllr David McBride. "His authority and command of his audience were on show to us in Orpington just as they have been when tackling Gordon Brown at Question Time."
