Lennard Woods

Lennard Woods, Chair of Bromley and Chislehurst Liberal Democrats, was involved in a tragic cycling accident on Tuesday 26th June and sadly died of his injuries.

Lennard was a true champion of Liberalism having stood for election to Bromley Council at every local election since 1982, as well as tirelessly delivering Focuses across the borough rain, hail and snow, year in and year out. He was a dedicated worker, a committed campaigner and a mainstay of the Red Lion Tendency. He went wherever the need arose and was most recently on the doorsteps of Folkestone and Hythe constituency, where he lent his support to others from Bromley and Chislehurst helping the Shepway Liberal Democrat campaign during this year's local elections.

His funeral will be at 2:30pm on 16th July 2007 at Hither Green Crematorium, Verdant Lane, London, SE6 1JX. Flowers in yellow or white only please or donations to Amnesty International.

Those of us who were close to Lennard still struggle with the thought that he is no longer with us. He will be sorely missed by friends and foes alike and all our thoughts are with his daughters Pippa and Naomi and with his wife Jane.
