Clockhouse Lib Dem councillors get the clean sweep they called for!

Clockhouse Cllr Reg Adams has finally got the clean sweep of Clock House streets that he has been calling for.

In the tightly packed streets of Clockhouse, the Council's roadsweeping vehicles used to proceed majestically along the centre of the highway, making a lot of noise, brushes whirring, engines revving - achieving virtually nothing in the way of real street cleaning! The drains and gutters became more and more gummed up with leaves and litter.

Everyone could see that this was a complete farce. Acting in response to our complaints, the Council has pioneered deep-cleaning blitzes in some of the roads in Clock House.

On a particular day, a "no parking" rule is established along the road, with residents notified of the date by street-signs and door-to-door leaflets. Any cars that are in the way on the due date can be lifted and moved to nearby streets. With a totally clear target, the roads, gutters and pavements are then cleaned with high pressure water jets. The clean sweep that Lib Dem councillors wanted!
