Ben Abbotts listens to local sixth form pupils Jessica Borrowman and Stuart Harris. Ben says that young people shouldn’t be saddled with massive debts.

A leading Bromley youth representative is supporting Lib Dem Ben Abbotts in his campaign to stop local students being plunged into debt.

Ben Abbotts said: "At the General Election the Conservatives pledged to scrap Tony Blair's student tuition fees. Now the Tories have done a complete U-turn and are supporting fees. The only thing students and parents can be sure of is that the Tories can't be trusted."

Bullers Wood sixth former Jessica Borrowman, who is a representative of the Borough's youth to Bromley Council, said: "I am due to start university next year, but being plunged up to £30,000 in debt by the time I leave is a frightening prospect. I know of other sixth form pupils who are being put off from going to university because of it."

Ben Abbotts added: "Liberal Democrats will continue to campaign for the abolition of tuition fees, improving the quality of education for all."
