No Commitment to Biggin Hill Pool says Conservative Leader

Swimming Pool

A Biggin Hill Tory Leaflet is misleading in saying a Swimming Pool is "set for a Green light", according to Biggin Hill Lib Dem Councillor Bob Shekyls.

According to the Conservative Council Leader. What is promised is just a 'Leisure Facility', but maybe not evene that.

Questioned by Liberal Democrat Executive member, Cllr Chris Gaster, the Tory Leader of the Council told him that it is "open ended and there is no commitment to a Swimming Pool".

So a swimming pool that is "set for Green a Green light" is actually a consultation on a leisure facility.

Both Biggin Hill Liberal Democrat councilors, Geoff Gostt and Bob Shekyls, are not surprised - as no consultation has taken place with the Leisure Trust, My Time.

My Time would have the cost of running the pool and may say they cannot afford it!

Neither has Charles Darwin School been asked if they now wish to have a pool.

"During the General Election the Tories promised a mini roundabout at the Jail Lane/Main Road junction. "Now they are doing the same over the swimming pool" says Cllr. Geoff Gostt.

Cllr Bob Shekyls commented, "For the Conservatives to falsely raising peoples hopes for votes is appalling".
