Chelsfield & Pratts Bottom Parking (1): Car parking changes thrown into confusion

12.01.00am GMT Mon 30th Jan 2006

Yellow lines

Proposals for a number of changes to parking restrictions in our area have been thrown into total confusion.

The changes to various yellow lines were requested by Tory Councillor Julian Grainger - but the vast majority of residents who were consulted said they are opposed to them.

Rather than accepting the decision of local residents Cllr Grainger asked at a recent Bromley Council meeting for the decision to be put off, while he tries to find a way to force changes through.

Local Liberal Democrat Duncan Borrowman said: "In one road where residents were consulted, only one resident said they were in favour, but Cllr Grainger seems to think the plans should go ahead"

The plans for Repton Road, Albert Road and Warren Drive are all now being re-examined at the request of Cllr Grainger, despite strong opposition from local residents.
