Lib Dem Councillor Grace Goodlad inspects the Esso Chimes 24 hour licence application.

Residents scored a victory at Bromley Council's Licensing Sub-committee on 25th January.

As a result of pressure from residents, Esso reduced their application from 24 hour alcohol sales, and asked for 6am to midnight.

But, the licensing panel went even further, announcing that as a result of the objections of residents they would only grant 6am - 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 6am - 11.30pm Friday and Saturday. Esso's solicitor said they will appeal.

Lib Dem Councillor Grace Goodlad said: "This is a victory for local residents, who are massively opposed to Esso's plans. Residents now need to be prepared to make their views heard at the Bromley Magistrates Court appeal hearing if it happens."

Esso's planning application for rebuilding the service station has been delayed, we will keep you informed of progress.
