No to Litterbugs11.59.00pm GMT Sat 22nd Oct 2005 A huge 84% of respondents are in favour of fining litterbugs who leave a mess on Bromley's Streets. Bromley Liberal Democrats have been running an Internet poll at bromleylibdems.org.uk to gauge public opinion.
Cllr Grace Goodlad said "I am not at all surprised by the results. Bromley's residents want to go back to the days of a clean, green Borough which have disappeared over the last 4 years. I am constantly inundated with complaints about graffiti, uncollected waste and the mess on our streets" Cllr Goodlad supports a recent Council Decision to fine fly-tippers £70 and says "When the Council reviews the impact of fining fly-tippers I shall be lobbying to have the fines extended to graffiti artists, litterbugs and those that don't clear up their dog's mess. We all need to be vigilant and not tolerate antisocial behaviour like this if we want to clear up our Borough" As part of their constant efforts to listen to what the people of Bromley want Bromley Liberal Democrats have opened a new poll about the siting of mobile phone masts in the Borough.
