Where is Biggin Hill's missing £14,000?10.46.11pm GMT Mon 3rd Oct 2005 Last week the Biggin Hill News front page announced that £36,000 was being spent By Bromley Council on traffic calming in Biggin Hill - but Transport for London gave Bromley £50,000 for Biggin Hill. So what has happened to the remaining £14,000? "There is no doubt that the Tory controlled Couincil will be spending elsewhere and Biggin Hill is losing out again," says Councillor Bob Shekyls. Consultants recommended alterations to the Salt Box/Main Road junction and Cllr Bob Shekyls and Cllr Geoff Gostt pointed out their proposal was flawed, but we have now agreed a better solution. Cllr Geoff Gostt said, "I am very disappointed that after several years campaigning, there will not be a mini-roundabout at the Jail Lane/Main Road junction, we need improvements here before a serious accident occurs". As a 'johnny come lately' our Tory MP claimed his General Election campaign had secured the mini-roundabout, so where is it Bob and Geoff ask? Was it just an election gimmick to get more votes?
