Top London MP - Lib Dem Paul Burstow

The Evening Standard has today declared that London's Liberal Democrat MPs offer the "best value" to their constituents. The same study found that "London's 14 Tory MPs perform poorly"

3 Liberal Democrat MPs topped the 'value index', with all Liberal Democrat London MPs awarded 4 or 5 stars for the performance. Paul Burstow, the Liberal Democrat Health Spokesman, was found to be the best value MP in London.

The index took into account MPs expenses and their activity - how often they speak or ask questions in the house. LibDems Paul Burstow, Vince Cable, Tom Brake and Simon Hughes were all warded 5 stars for their performance. Ed Davey and Jenny Tonge were awarded 4 stars. The Standard called the LibDem performance "remarkable".

It was less kind about the Tory performance, commenting "London's 14 Tory MPs perform poorly, with not one achieving 5 stars. Tories fill the three bottom spots".
