Cllr. Chris Maines and the Liberal Democrats have spoken out over the proposed changes to Special Education in Bromley

There was a huge turn-out of concerned local people at a public meeting held last night to discuss the proposed reorganisation of Special Education in Bromley.

Parents from all over the borough gathered at Hillside School to discuss the proposed changes, which have met with wide spread resistance from parents and concerted opposition from Liberal Democrat Councillors.

Orpington Liberal Democrat Councillor Chris Maines, who attended the meeting, said 'It's clear from the strength of feeling amongst the parents that they are not going to take the proposed changes lying down. Bromley Council has devised a poor scheme based around cutting costs, which will put units all over the borough under threat of reorganisation and closure'

Parents concerned about the changes can visit the campaign website set up by parents at www.senaction.org
