Leading local Lib Dem welcomes Crystal Palace Park move12.00.00am GMT Tue 13th Jan 2004
Bromley borough's Liberal Democrat Greater London Assembly candidate has given his full backing to the decision by the Executive of Bromley Council's decision last night to lease the whole of Crystal Palace park to the London Development Agency, and for them to build a new regional sports facility while Sport England keeps the NSC going for 2 years. Duncan Borrowman said; "Crystal Palace is a regional London resource which needs London wide backing to provide a top quality facility for all Londoners. It sits at the joining point of four boroughs, and is strategically placed for the whole capital. it is time for it to pass from Bromley's hands to London's - where it should always have been. "Hopefully we can now see some major forward steps in the future of the park"
