The results in tonight's Council Elections across Great Britain would mean victory for the Liberal Democrats in Orpington at the next General Election and local Liberal Democrat Duncan Borrowman being elected as a list member to the Greater London Assembly.

Chris Maines, Orpington Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman

The Orpington Lib Dem candidate at the last General Election, Chris Maines, said; "With the BBC predicting a national Liberal Democrat vote share of 30% the Conservative majority of 269 would be overturned with a massive Lib Dem victory."

Duncan Borrowman, who is 7th on the Lib Dem London list said; "30% would ensure my election to the Greater London Assembly; it has been the greatest night ever for the Liberal Democrats"
